Overview

Muzica ("the App") is a music player developed by vdwapps. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

Data We Collect

Muzica currently plays music stored on your device and does not require an account. The App does not collect or share personal information beyond anonymous crash reports (see Crash Reporting below).

Future versions may introduce optional account-based features such as streaming services. Any such features will update this policy and will be clearly opt-in.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and never leaves it:

  • Playback preferences (repeat, shuffle, equalizer settings)
  • Playlist files (M3U format) in your device storage
  • Recently played history — can be disabled in Settings
  • Song play counts — can be disabled in Settings

This data can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App.

Permissions

  • READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — to read music files stored on your device. No files are uploaded or shared.
  • RECORD_AUDIO — required by Android OS to run the audio visualizer. No audio is recorded or stored.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE — to keep music playing in the background.
  • VIBRATE — for Wear OS haptic feedback.

Crash Reporting

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to report anonymous crash data — including stack traces, device model, and OS version — only when the App crashes unexpectedly. This helps us find and fix bugs faster.

No personal identifiers are included in crash reports. You can opt out by disabling crash reporting in your device's Google settings.

Wear OS

When syncing playlists to a paired Wear OS device, audio files are transferred directly over your local Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. No data passes through external servers during this process.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes to This Policy

Any updates to this policy will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
